How do I setup the EnGenius Mesh Router?

It’s easy to setup. First, you will need a mobile device that supports either Android™ or iOS and a data connection. You will need to download the EnGenius EnMesh™ Mobile App from the Apple App Store® and Google PlayTM store to install your Mesh network in minutes. The EnMesh™ App will walk you through the network setup process in your first use.

Before getting started

Check that your equipment is all in the box.

2. Power Adapter(s)
3. Ethernet Cable

Step 1: Download the EnMesh™ App for iOS or Android.
The EnGenius Mesh Router is an application-based setup device, which simplifies the installation process. You will find the EnMesh™ Mobile App in Apple App Store and on Google Play.

Step 2: Prepare your home network.
1. Unplug your modem and wait for 30 seconds, then power it up and power on one of your Mesh Routers (if you have purchased the three router-kit).
2. Connect the first Mesh Router’s WAN port to the modem’s WAN Ethernet port via the included Ethernet cable.
3. Wait until the device’s LED display flashes from white to constant blue.

Step 3: Setup through the EnMesh™ Mobile App.
1. Put all of your Mesh Routers together, and follow the EnMesh™ wizard to guide you through your Mesh Network setup.
2. Deploy your Mesh Routers to key locations around your home where you need Wi-Fi. Power on all your Mesh Routers and Smart Link will automatically connect each one. Then simply enjoy your new Mesh Wi-Fi network.

How many Mesh Routers do I need?

A single Mesh Router covers up to 1,500 sq. ft., while the three-pack kit (Model: EMR3000-KIT) covers homes up to 4,500 sq. ft. Wirelessly connect multiple Mesh Routers to cover a home of nearly any size. To extend your coverage area, simply add more devices.

Will it work with my Internet Service Provider and modem?

Sure! The EnGenius Mesh Router will work with most major Internet Service Providers, and is compatible with nearly all modems. The first Mesh Router plugs into your existing cable or DSL modem during the setup process. Then, follow the EnMesh™ App steps to create your Mesh Wi-Fi network. Does it work with Satellite? Fiber? We should specify whether or not it works with others beyond just Cable/DSL.

I have a combination modem/router; can I use EnGenius Mesh Router?

Definitely. The EnGenius Mesh Router will replace the router function of your combination device. You can also add EnGenius Mesh Routers behind your existing modem/router to extend your Wi-Fi coverage.

Can the Mesh Router to be used as a range extender?

No. The EnGenius Mesh Router cannot be used as an extender for a traditional router. The Mesh Router actually eliminates your need for a range extender by creating a mesh network when used with multiple Mesh Router devices.

Where should I place my EnGenius Mesh Router(s)?

Placement of your device(s) will depend on the layout of your home and the materials used in its construction. If you have a multi-floor home, you should place a mesh router on each floor. OR your if you have a large single story home, you should place each router approximately every 1,500 sq. ft.
